Local Little League teams to participate in tourneys

Several area Little League teams, including those a part of the Henryetta Youth Baseball Softball Association, are competing this week in tournaments.

The OK Kids Baseball Association, Inc. promotes the playing of amateur baseball and softball teams. Baseball Regionals will be held June 20-22 at the following locations:

• 8U – Sallisaw, Stroud, Anadarko, Kingfisher, Coalgate, Weatherford and Perry

• 10U – Chickasha, Vian, Washington, Checotah, Elk City, Kingfisher and Fletcher

• 12U – Sallisaw, Chickasha, Lindsay, Morrison, Elk City, Cushing and Weatherford The Henryetta Express will be one of four teams participating in the 12U Regional Tournament in Sallisaw. Games are being played at the Sallisaw Sports Complex, 1300 Steve Davis Parkway.

Other teams in the tourney include Stigler Bandits, Vian Wolverines and Sallisaw Red Sox.

Checotah will host the 10U Regional this week also. Teams playing at that Regional will be the Checotah Blue, Henryetta Dingers, Porum Panthers, Shawnee M-Pact, Webber Falls Yard Goats, Weleetka Outlaws and Checotah Bandits.

For those making it to State, here are the dates for those tournaments:

• 8U softball state will be held June 19-22

• 10U and 12U softball state will be held June 2022

• Tee-ball state will be held June 27-29 -Coach Pitch Regional #2 – Stroud – Stroud Little League Field #1, 798 Cedar Ave.

Teams: Stroud, Byng, Beggs, Gore, Chandler, Checotah Bulls and Guthrie 405 -8U State Tournament – Chickasha: June 19-22, Chickasha Sports Complex/University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma Softball Complex Teams: Blue Bracket: Cache, Seiling, Blanchard, Navajo, Beggs, Sentinel, Hydro-Brooks, Carnegie, Mooreland, Morris Dream and Chickasha Diamonds. Red Bracket: Canute, Davis, Purcell Fire, Fletcher, Weatherford Eagles, Okemah Bomb Squad, Merritt, Guthrie, Hydro-Meigs and Chickasha Pink Sox.

– 10U State Tournament – Weatherford, June 20-22, Weatherford Softball Complex – Rader Park – 3500 Lyle Rd.

Teams – Blue Bracket: Canute, Guthrie Bedlam, Erick Bearcats, Weatherford Wildcats, Noble Bears, Burns Flat-Dill City Lady Eagles, Cache, Preston All Clans Next Gen, Weleetka and Weatherford Boomers. Red Bracket: Cheyenne-Reydon Spike, Davis Angels, Thomas Girls in Green, Elmore City Lady Badgers, Blanchard Diamonds, Elk City Rumble Ponies, Mooreland Lady Cats 2K14, Apache, Chickasha Fireballs and Weatherford Peaches.
