County officials, members of the Okmulgee County Criminal Justice Authority (OCCJA) Board and community members gathered last week to celebrate the completion of a long-awaited project – the new OCCJA Maintenance Shop.
The ribbon cutting ceremony, held last Thursday at the facility, located at 515 W. 7th St. in Okmulgee, marked a significant milestone for the county’s criminal justice operations. The event followed the regularly scheduled OCCJA Board meeting and brought together stakeholders to recognize the importance of the new addition.
Officials noted the project was both much-needed and long overdue, providing maintenance staff with a modern, functional workspace that meets current codes and standards. The upgraded facility is expected to improve efficiency and expand the ability for more in-house maintenance work, ultimately saving time and resources.
The new shop represents an investment in both infrastructure and personnel, giving workers the tools and environment necessary to better serve the facility and the community.
Following the ceremony, attendees enjoyed a time of fellowship with food and refreshments, celebrating the completion of a project that will benefit OCCJA operations for years to come.
