During the recent Okmulgee Elks Lodge annual Law Enforcement and Emergency Responder Banquet, Wilson Volunteer Fire Department Chief David Kennedy (left) presented Garrett Floyd (right) with the award for Wilson Fire Department Firefighter of the Year. Floyd was chosen for the honor by a vote of his fellow firefighters. “Garrett goes above and beyond in his position within the department becoming a better firefighter with training every chance he gets and consistently working to make the fire department better,” Chief Kennedy ssaid. “He is an amazing asset to not only our department but our community.
