Henryetta City Council members approved Zoe Brown to host free safety training for Can-Am Dealers on Thursday, Nov. 7 and Friday, Nov. 8 at the HOTT Track at Nichols Park.
“Set up (moving in semi trucks, unloading units and testing the track) will be on the 7th,” Brown said. “As of now, we are just looking at having a morning training on the 8th. Tear down and move out would follow.”
Council members approved consent agenda items for August consisting of financial reports, meeting minutes and claims for the month.
All of the following payments were approved:
• $22,024.27 to AEP/PSO;
• $12,544.67 to Fuelman;
• $5,971.79 to American Exchange Bank for lease/purchase payments for a ladder truck;
• $9,951.95 to Emergency Medical Services;
• $9,943.90 to Henryetta Economic Development Authority;
• $38,495.13 to Bank of Oklahoma for a 2015 Note Series monthly payment;
• $17,490.71 to Crawford & Associates P.C. for professional services rendered;
• $6,188.96 to Tyler Technologies for annual maintenance.
As Interim City Manager Donna White recovers from back surgery, council members appointed Public Works Director Ron Casey to make decisions in her place until she is able to return to work.
Henryetta City Manager and Public Works Director Report is as follows:
Water Treatment Plant – A bid packet with Bill Myers Engineering is in the works for settling plate repairs on a clarifier.
Waste Water Treatment Plant – All aspects of testing for quality control of lab procedures with the environmental protection agency passed. Crews still await a new pump for the State Street lift station.
Street Department – Crews were busy in preparation to ensure all city activities were safe and fun for residents. Ten tons of potholes were patched. Three blocks were graded. Eight blocks were swept. Six culverts were installed. Five ditches were cleaned. Three blocks were brush-hogged. Four signs were installed. A total of 150 storm drains were cleaned. Three tons of gravel and 75 tons of asphalt were hauled. Nichols Park and New Lake were mowed. Three houses were demolished. All ball fields were mowed and weedeated for the Little League Association due to their lack of maintenance.
West Side Sewer Project – The project is still progressing ahead of schedule.
Nichols Park – Restrooms near the beach house and on the north side of the ball fields were completed.
McCutcheon Park – Splash Pad was closed for the off season. An estimated 2.5 million gallons of water was used throughout the park this year.
Henryetta Police Department – A total of 41 people were both booked and released from the jail in August of which 28 were male and 13 were female. There were 188 citations and 20 citation warnings filed. Five new sex offenders were registered in August.
Henryetta Fire Department – A total of 113 total incidents were reported of which four were charged for the call. Billing for the month totaled $1,200. There were 194.5 hours of call back and FLSA for the month. Rescue and EMS calls led the month with 29.20%, down 1.41%. Service calls followed with 30.97%, up 8.52%. Fire calls finished with 8.85%, up 2.73%. The fire department will continue fire hydrant maintenance throughout the end of September. Goddard Enterprises began rebuilding three of the city storm sirens, which will be out of service around three weeks.
Henryetta Public Library – A total of 34 magazines and 30 books were added to the collection. Materials checked out in August totaled 619. There were 21 obituary searches and 47 customer assistance questions. Microfilm was used 17 times and computers were used 497 times. Eleven new library cards were issued and 10 were renewed. Revenue from fines was $38.35. Revenue from copies or faxes was $306.80.
“Thank you to city crews for working hard and getting everything done,” Mayor Jennifer Munholland said.
No new business was presented and the meeting adjourned.
City Council members in attendance were Gary Clason, Mayor Munholland, Christy Jeffcoat and Janna Duggan. Shannon Scott was absent.
Henryetta Municipal Authority regular meeting began with the approval of financial reports, meeting minutes and claims for August.
Payments approved by trustees included:
• $13,300 to Center Point Landfill for trash services (Mayor Munholland noted that the service keeps increasing in cost);
• $11,193.26 and $37,962.14 to Oklahoma Water Resources Board (OWRB) for a monthly payments;
• $52,344 to Beytco, Inc. for sewer system improvements section A lift station;
• $12,640 to Myers Engineering for sanitary sewer system extension.
A Change Order No. 1 for the Sewer System Improvements Section A Lift Station was approved.
Municipal Authority members also approved the purchase of caustic soda in the amount of $9,500 and ferric chloride in the amount of $9,500 for the water treatment plant.
