1 Corinthians 16:14 – Let all that you do be done in love.
Read the words above again, this time much more slowly and with great deliberation … How did they hit this time? Did they just roll off, or were you convicted? Yes, we are flawed human beings, whether or not we are members of Christ’s body. We make mistakes every day and fail our Lord. But often it is the intention behind many of those errors in judgment that will show our faith. You see, when our purpose is to cause harm, whether spiritual, mental, or physical, we are working for Satan. On the other hand, Jesus’ love extended so far reaching and so deeply that He forgave the ones who killed Him. Because we are not divine, our emotions often kick in before we can stop them. However, that does not mean we cannot seek forgiveness both from the one we harmed and the One who will always forgive. We must remember we are in training until we reach our heavenly goal. Trainees are not experts but they do work out each day, getting stronger and stronger as time passes. Study the Word, pray about everything without ceasing, and remain tethered to the source of all love. Daily workouts will have a payoff beyond imagining.
