The Okmulgee County Special Athletic Association (OCSAA) will hold its annual Shark Shiver fundraiser this Saturday.
The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Okmulgee Elks Lodge, 701 S. Mission, bringing together families, supporters and athletes for an afternoon of food, fellowship and fundraising.
The Shark Shiver serves as one of OCSAA’s signature yearly events, helping sustain programs that provide year-round sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual or physical disabilities. Through these opportunities, participants gain confidence, develop physical skills and build lasting friendships while experiencing the joy of competition.
Event organizers say the community’s support plays a vital role in ensuring those programs continue to thrive.
Shark Shiver begins with participant sign-up at 1 p.m. and the jump scheduled for 2 p.m. Spectators are encouraged to attend, cheer on participants and help create an energetic atmosphere.
In addition to the plunge, attendees can enjoy an Indian taco dinner served from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Plates will be available for $12 each, with proceeds benefiting OCSAA programming and athlete support needs.
