A range of routine county business, financial approvals and property-related discussions highlighted a recent meeting of the Okmulgee County Board of Commissioners, as officials worked through an agenda covering administrative reports, equipment matters and funding considerations.
Agenda items approved included:
• Minutes from the previous meeting held Feb. 9
• Blanket purchase orders – Nuyaka Fire to RPI and S&H Auto, both for $1000; District 1 to S&H Auto for $1,000.
• Employee Forms: District 1 George Harding, Clinton Hunter, Chris Ryder, all full-time; Cody Herman, employment ceased; Jarvis Demery, part-time.
• Private Property Agreement in District 1 with Robert Stewart for ditch dirt.
• Declaration of Surplus and Dis- posing of Equipment for a roller from District 1.
Commissioners also discussed the use of Use Tax funds to pay a Federal Signal invoice totaling $248,313.40, for storm sirens. The county recently received a grant for storm sirens, and will be reimbursed for their portion of the grant.
In another funding matter, the board reviewed a proposal to use LATCF funds for radio equipment and that item was approved.
The board also approved the listing of Okmulgee County employees’ salaries for 2025.
Emergency Management Director Jeffrey Moore was not present due to him attending a conference this week.
His report is included in this edition. Commissioner Steve Ward also asked for prayers for former County Clerk Becky Thomas, who lost her father this week.
