By PATRICK FORD Editor,

History keeps repeating itself in Morris – and that’s a very good thing.

The Morris High School Academic Team has once again proven it belongs at the very top of Oklahoma’s academic elite, capturing the 2025-26 OSSAA State Academic Bowl Championship last Saturday and securing an incredible fourth consecutive state title.

Morris Public Schools proudly congratulated the team on its latest championship run, celebrating not only the trophy but the relentless work ethic, preparation and teamwork that have defined this historic streak.

“This four-peat speaks volumes about the dedication of these students,” the district shared. “We also want to thank Coach Jeremy Avery for the countless hours he invests in preparing and supporting these young scholars.”

Winning a state academic championship is difficult. Winning four in a row is rare.

The Morris Academic Team once again rose to the challenge at the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association (OSSAA) State Academic Bowl, competing against top teams from across the state. With sharp recall, quick thinking and disciplined teamwork, Morris advanced through a demanding field to reclaim its spot atop Class 3A.

This latest title reinforces Morris High School’s reputation as one of Oklahoma’s premier academic programs – a school where excellence in the classroom is celebrated just as passionately as success on the field.

The 2025–2026 OSSAA State Academic Bowl, powered by OG&E, brought together outstanding students from every classification. Organizers praised the event as an incredible showcase of knowledge, teamwork and dedication, with strong support from educators, administrators and community

Special thanks were extended to OG&E, OSSAA leadership, the Academic Advisory Committee and Rose State College for hosting and supporting the championship event.

For Morris High School, this championship isn’t just another banner – it’s a testament to years of sustained excellence, preparation and belief in academic achievement. Four straight state titles place the Morris Academic Team in elite company and set a powerful example for students across the district.

Congratulations to the Morris High School Academic Team, Coach Jeremy Avery and everyone who supports this championship tradition.

Four in a row – and the legacy keeps growing.
