Nominations sought for ‘Henryettan of the Year’

The Henryetta Free-Lance is calling for nominations for the Henryettan of the Year award, honoring those who have dedicated their time, talent and efforts to make Henryetta a stronger, more vibrant community.

This honor, being awarded for over 75 years, celebrates exemplary volunteerism and community contributions, recognizing citizens whose actions have made a significant impact on Henryetta and its surrounding areas.

Nominees can be from Henryetta or surrounding areas, provided their efforts have benefitted the Henryetta community. This inclusive approach ensures that all those who contribute to the city’s progress, even from nearby towns, have the opportunity to be recognized.

Those wishing to nominate someone should provide a de- tailed description of the nominee’s contributions and reasons why they deserve to be named Henryettan of the Year. Past volunteer efforts may also be included to offer a comprehensive view of the nominee’s dedication to community service.

Submissions can be sent via email to the Free-Lance at denise@ cookson.news or patrick@ bigbasinllc.com, or by mail to the Henryetta Free-Lance office, located at 320 W. 6th Street in Okmulgee.

The deadline for nominations is Jan. 9, 2026.
