VFW and VFW Auxiliary members were at Homeland and Walmart in Henryetta over the weekend, holding a flag drive. The groups place 1,200 flags on veterans’ graves on Memorial Day. They also buy and maintain all of the 42 military branches and U.S. flags that line Main Street in Henryetta.
Auxiliary President Teresa Stevenson and Veterans Service Officer Tricia Bear, along with Past Post President Bill Goodner and other volunteers, assisted with the drive.
Next week on Thursday, Dec. 4, the Feed the Vets food distribution event will be held at 11 a.m. at New Life Church, located at 1201 S. C Street. Volunteers are needed at 10 a.m. in order to divide the food for distribution to the military veterans or veteran dependents.
