The Liberty Junior High Basketball Tournament is set to bring a full slate of action Nov. 17-20, featuring top middle school teams from around the region – including Okmulgee Dunbar, Mounds, Porter, Riverfield, Summit Christian, Chouteau and the hosting Liberty. Both the girls’ and boys’ brackets promise competitive matchups as teams battle for the championship titles.

The Girls Bracket opens Monday, Nov. 17, at Liberty High School, with Liberty A hosting Mounds at 5 p.m., followed by Chouteau vs. Riverfield at 7 p.m. in the elementary gym.
On the lower side of the bracket, Liberty B faces Summit Christian at 7 p.m., while Porter takes on Okmulgee Dunbar at 5 p.m., also at the elementary gym.
Winners will advance to the semifinals on Tuesday, Nov. 18, with games scheduled at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. The championship game is set for Thursday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m. in the high school gym, while the consolation championship and placement games will also take place earlier that evening.
The Okmulgee girls, representing Dunbar Middle School, are expected to bring energy and determination as they face the Porter Lady Pirates in the opening round. Both programs have shown strong youth development in recent seasons and will look to make a deep run in the tournament.

The Boys Bracket features an equally competitive lineup. The tournament tips off Monday, Nov. 17, with Liberty hosting Porter at 6 p.m. in the high school gym. That same evening, Chouteau meets Okmulgee Red at 8 p.m., while Mounds squares off against Summit Christian and Okmulgee Black faces Riverfield in the elementary gym.
Second-round matchups are scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 18, at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., with the championship game to be played Thursday, Nov. 20, at 8 p.m.
Both Okmulgee Dunbar teams – Red and Black are in the hunt, showcasing the program’s growing depth. The Red squad will take on Chouteau in the high school gym, while the Black team faces Summit Christian, setting up the possibility for both to advance in opposite sides of the bracket.

The Liberty Junior High Tournament offers a unique mix of competition and community spir- it, bringing together schools from across northeastern Oklahoma. With multiple Okmulgee squads competing – including Dunbar’s Red and Black boys’ teams – local fans will have plenty to cheer for.
All games will be held on the Liberty campus, with the high school gym hosting higher-seeded matchups and the elementary gym handling alternate rounds.
Fans are encouraged to come out and support their local athletes throughout the week. Admission will be available at the door, with concessions open for all sessions.
