--- Superintendent’s Report: Roofing Recovery & Campus Improvements Superintendent Price provided a detailed update highlighting significant financial and infrastructure developments. The district recently recovered more than $459,000 in additional insurance funds related to past roofing damage and expects another $102,000 in forthcoming payments. These efforts, Price said, are part of an aggressive push to secure funding for proper roofing replacements - especially at the elementary school - and to rectify previous oversights in insurance claims.
In addition, Price noted ongoing preparations to res-tripe all district parking lots this summer. “This is a safety concern, as cars jockey for position at times not knowing where to park,” Price said. He is working with G Force Striping to finalize plans for the project during a low-traffic week in July.
Other facility improvements include adding surveillance cameras around the gym and CNG stations, acquiring a new bad boy mower for athletics grounds and seeking a replacement for a broken carpet cleaning machine. “The cost of cleaning just the district office carpets would be about $3,500 about the same as purchasing a machine outright,” Price said, noting this would save money and improve cleanliness district-wide.
Reports were received from the high school about end of year activities and summer programs. Driver’s education and virtual summer learning programs are in progress, and the school year has wrapped up with all necessary reporting submitted.
