Sandra Brown, American author of romantic and thriller suspense novels, celebrates March 12, 1948, as her birthdate.
Born in Waco and raised in Ft. Worth, Texas, Sandra was an English major at Texas Christian University, but left college in 1968 to get married. Michael was a broadcast journalist and documentary filmmaker.
After she and Michael married, she worked at a couple TV channels before her husband dared her to write a book. Her first novel, “Love’s Encore,” was published in 1981. Since that time, she has published over 80 novels (73 New York Times bestsellers) and her books have been translated into 34 languages, and she has more than 80 million copies of her books in print worldwide.
Her works have received several awards, and Sandra has gone on two USO tours to Afghanistan and Cuba. Four of her books have been made into TV movies. Her newest creation, “Blood Moon,” was released on March 4, 2025.
Sandra now lives in Arlington, Texas on four woodland acres. She and Michael have two children, Rachel and Ryan.
