In 1963, Phyllis married George Argyle and embraced the life of a military spouse, traveling to several states where George was stationed with the U.S. Air Force. Together, they raised two sons, Richard Dawane and Ronald Dale Argyle, whom she cherished deeply.

Later, Phyllis moved to Okmulgee, where she worked in finance before co-running Okmulgee Lumber Company with her son Ron. She later joined the Okmulgee Times Newspaper, where she worked for many years until her retirement.

A woman of faith, Phyllis had a deep love for gospel music. She was a talented singer August 14, 1936 – February 1, 2025

Arrangements have been entrusted to McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee. Memories, condolences, photos and videos may be shared with the family on Phyllis’s Tribute Page at www.mcclendon- winters.com.
