Council approves appointments, items

Henryetta City Council covered a lengthy agenda during their regular monthly meeting, which included several appointments and decisions on property abatements.

Agenda items discussed and approved were:

• Financial Reports for December, 2024.

• Minutes of meeting held in December, 2024.

• Claims for the month of December, 2024.

• Payment to Bank of Oklahoma in the amount of $40,023.88 for 2015 Note Series monthly payment.

• Payment to AEP/PSO in the amount of $23,823.86.

• 2024 State Aid Agreement for Henryetta Public Library.

• Right of Way Access Agreement between the City of Henryetta and Dobson Technologies, Inc.

— Reappointed

• Jill Francis, Jason Lilly and Kenny Berry to the Henryetta Planning & Zoning Board.

• On recommendation by Henryetta Parks, Recreation & Tourism Board, allowed the Chamber of Commerce to use Nichols Park for the Jim Shoulders Rodeo on Aug. 30-31.

• On recommendation by Henryetta Parks, Recreation & Tourism Board, approved advertisement in the Focus Magazine featuring tourism in Henryetta. (To be paid out of the Hotel/Motel Tax).

• On recommendation by Henryetta Parks, Recreation & Tourism Board, to allow Tulledega Events, Inc. to use the Gazebo Park for the Hallmark Christmas Event on Dec. 5-6.

— Abatements

• Property located at 405 N 11th Street – No Action.

• Property located at 417 East Gum Street – Owner to make necessary repairs to prevent abatement.

• Property located at 206 E Scott Street (Council approved 90 days extension for owner to clean site at October 15, 2024, Meeting) – Approved

• Property located at 901 W Cummings – Owner given another 60 days

• Property located at 1604 W Broadway – Owner given another 60 days

• Property located at 902 ½ W Broadway (Keys 1 Henryetta E 20’of N 54’ LT 10 & N 54’ LTS 11 & 12 BLK4) owned by Baldridge Apartment Rentals • property was donated to Al’s Ministry, slated for improvements.

• Property located at 702 Genevieve – Owner will tear down

• Property located at Center Street – Approved for abatement City Manager’s Report: Booster station is complete, Casey’s General Store looking at a Feb. 13 opening date, which is ahead of their scheduled March 1 opening.

The council also discussed about the dog situation and that licenses are required. More information about the requirements will be in an upcoming edition.
