A rate of high speed through the construction zone on Hwy. 75 between Trudgeon Street and Dewar Junction on Wednesday morning around 10 a.m. resulted in a wreck of an 18-wheeler, according to Henryetta Police Chief Steve Norman (pictured at right). The semi was traveling northbound on Hwy. 75 above the posted speed limit of 35 mph. The driver was hauling a large load of plywood sheets when the load shifted as the driver began navigating a slight curve. The truck ended up in the ditch on the east side of Hwy. 75, covering both northbound lanes. The majority of the load was scattered on the south side of the trailer (pictured at left). Henryetta Police Department, Henryetta Fire Department, Okmulgee County EMS and City of Henryetta crews responded quickly, helping redirect traffic safely through the median. PHOTOS BY TRACY GOZA
