Okmulgee County Treasurer Vonna Lampkins would like to remind property tax owners they have until Friday, Jan. 31 to make their payments without penalty.
Those choosing to pay just the first half of property taxes for 2019, the second half is still due by March 31, without penalty.
Lampkins reminds citizens that the office does not mail out second half reminders.
“It will be your responsibility to make your second half payment by March 31,” she said.
Payments can be made by credit card in the office or online at the Okmulgee County Treasurer website. There is a three percent charge to use a credit card.
The Okmulgee County Treasurer’s official website is: http://www.tmconsulting.us.com/vis-tor/visitor_home.php?cnty=Okmulgee or Google: Okmulgee County Treasurer.
This site allows taxpayers to view tax information online, calculate mortgage tax and pay taxes by credit card.
Those who want a receipt mailed to them should enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope. Taxpayers needing a mobile home decal should also enclose one.
“If you have back taxes due, it will state that at the end of your Tax Roll Identification Number (TID) in the upper right hand corner with the letters ‘BT’ printed in bold letters. At the bottom of your statement it will have the tax years that are delinquent printed in a block and highlighted,” Lampkins said.
