Henryetta Economic Development Authority (HEDA) approved the reimbursement of $64,984.00 to the City of Henryetta for the I-40 Exit 237 sewage project. Cost includes $52,444.00 for the lift station combined
Henryetta Economic Development Authority (HEDA) approved the reimbursement of $64,984.00 to the City of Henryetta for the I-40 Exit 237 sewage project.
Cost includes $52,444.00 for the lift station combined with $12,640.00 for the west system extension. Remaining monies in the budget totals $18,319.99.
“The additional amount beyond the $18,000 will have to go on the City Council agenda for approval,” Roy Madden said.
Minutes of the regular meeting and the HEDA financial report for September were reviewed and approved.
HEDA board member and Henryetta Mayor Jennifer Munholland reported the west side sewer project is complete. Crews have returned to check on the site to make sure everything is in working order.
Regarding the QuikTrip project, Munholland said demolition of the south hotel and houses is scheduled to begin in two weeks. QT officials anticipate contruction of the new business is estimated to begin in February or March.
In other news, Burger King construction is moving way ahead of schedule with a tentative open for business date set for Nov. 11.
“The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) Hwy. 75 overlay project is going to be a mess,” Munholland said. “The project is scheduled to continue for 362 days.”
ODOT crews plan to fill in the overpass on Hwy. 75 near Anchor Glass instead of removing it, she said.
A Main Street repaving project is scheduled for Oct. 14 through Nov. 14 by ODOT crews. The roadway from 8th Street all the way to the railroad tracks (1st Street) will be paved by ODOT.
“ODOT crews have ensured that there will be minimal impact on Cruise Knight,” Munholland said.
As several residents question the project and why side streets are not being repaved as well, ODOT is only responsible for major roadways/highways, not side streets. All side streets fall under the maintenance of the City of Henryetta.
HEDA members in attendance were Jill Francis, Keith Estes, Jennifer Munholland, Bruce Jones and Jim Beymer. Ron McAfee was absent and Roy Madden recorded minutes of the meeting.
