Bow hunters mark your calendars!
Deep Fork National Wildlife Refuge in Okmulgee will be issuing permits for their Limited Archery Deer Hunt on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Refuge Headquarters.
A maximum of 300 permits will be issued on a first come – first served basis. Cost is $10 each; cash only and you must be present to receive a permit.
Any remaining permits will be issued the following week (Sept. 16-20) at Refuge Headquarters from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. under the same cost and serve structure.
Refuge Headquarters is located at 21844 S. 250 Road in Okmulgee. The archery season on the refuge is from Oct. 28 through Nov. 30. You must have a permit in order to participate in this hunt.
The Limited Archery Deer Hunt is not a bonus hunt. State bag limits apply for this hunt.
To get to the Refuge Headquarters, from Hwy. 75, turn east onto Lavender Street at Schulter. At the end of Lavender Street, make a left and continue north on South 250 Road for approximately 1.5 miles. The refuge headquarters will be on the right.
