On Monday night at Shoney’s, Henryetta Labor Day Committee members gathered to discuss the schedule of events and other details of this year’s celebration. Some events and confirmations are still in the works. Following is the schedule of events, so far: Sunday, Aug. 17 – Labor Day Baby Pageant at 10 a.m. and Queen Pageant at 7 p.m. in the Henryetta High School Auditorium.
Thursday, Aug. 29 through Monday, Sept. 2 – Great Plains Amusements Carnival.
Saturday, Aug. 31 – Gospel Concert at 6:30 p.m. in the HS Auditorium.
Saturday, Aug. 31 through Sunday, Sept. 1 – Jim Shoulders Living Legends PRCA Rodeo at Nichols Park.
Saturday, Aug. 31 – Rustler’s Productions Concert featuring Hunter Thomas at 9:30 p.m. at Nichols Park.
Monday, Sept. 2 – First Family Federal Credit Union Car Show from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 402 E. Main; Craft vendor setup at 8 a.m.; Parade at 10 a.m.; BBQ lunch at the Civic Center at 11 a.m.; Fish Scramble, Turtle Race and Frog Hopping at 12 p.m. on 6th Street between Main and Broadway; Games (softball throw, egg toss, rolling pin toss, brick throw, penny hunt, wheel barrow race and pass-n-punt) at 12:30 p.m. at Cameron Field; Bo Posey music, parade trophies awarded, game winners announced and baby crawling contest at 6:30 p.m.; Fireworks presented by Shane Sanford of Hwy. 62 Fireworks at dark.
