Muscogee (Creek) Nation (MCN) and the federal roads program have partnered with local company, Premier Steel, to rebuild a community bridge damaged in recent floods.
The dedication will be held today-July 24 at 10:30 a.m. at Concharty Bridge site at 19040 Garfield Road in Okmulgee.
MCN Principal Chief James R. Floyd, Andy Vanaman with Premier Steel and MCN Secretary of Interior Affairs will be in attendance.
Concharty Church will lead a dedication prayer.
According to MCN officials, the bridge will be the first of its kind nationally.
Because of its modular, steel frame, the Fast Cast Bridge System allows for quick and safe completion of bridge projects.
The bridge is said to withstand a heavier load than a typical concrete bridge and is rated for use on federal highways.
