An Okmulgee woman was injured in a one-vehicle accident on July 3 at 5:03 a.m. on Eastbound I-40 at mile marker 207, five miles west of Cromwell in Seminole County according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) investigating Trooper Mike Choate.
According to the accident report, 41-year-old Faith Prince of Okmulgee was driving a four-door 2005 Toyota eastbound when she hit the rumble strip on the right, overcorrected and struck the guard rail on the left side of the roadway.
She was transported by Creek Nation EMS to St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa where she was listed in stable condition with trunk internal injuries.
Passenger in the vehicle, 41-year-old Chris Prince, also of Okmulgee, was not injured. Trooper Choate noted the cause of the collision was due to inattention and the condition of the driver was listed as “sleepy.” Seatbelts were equipped and in use. Airbags were equipped but did not deploy. Weather conditions were clear.
