Wilson School gym to be refurbished

A $15,000 bid was accepted from Arbos to redo the school gymnasium floor by Wilson School Board members at their Oct. 11 meeting. Board members reviewed and approved a contract

A $15,000 bid was accepted from Arbos to redo the school gymnasium floor by Wilson School Board members at their Oct. 11 meeting.

Board members reviewed and approved a contract revision for Joi Taylor, reflecting Reading Specialist Certification.

Minutes of the Sept. 13 regular meeting were reviewed and approved as well as financial reports for the September 2018 activity and lunch funds.

Other agenda items approved by the board included:

• September 2018 monthly treasurer report;

• Purchase order/encumbrances and warrants from the Building Fund for fiscal year 2017-2018;

• Warrants;

• 2018 Annual Election Resolution;

• Blanket Purchase Order for Buddy’s Produce in the amount of $6,000;

• Selling of frozen foods from Randy’s Meats to be added to the Activity Accounts for Revenue and Expenditures.

A District Report Card and the Annual Drop Our Report were unavailable.

Lucas Taylor was allowed to take photos at the Wilson Tiger Classic.

Board members approved the following 2019 meeting dates: Jan. 10, Feb. 11, March 14, April 11, May 9, June 13, July 13, Aug. 8, Sept. 12, Oct. 10, Nov. 14 and Dec. 12.

Wilson Superintendent Andrea James gave an update on facilities and maintenance as well as the calendar of events.

Board members attending the meeting were Jimmy Floyd, Pam Gaines and Travis Moore. Thomas Harjo and Dawnyell McKinney were absent. Guests attending were Supt. James and Lori Edmundson.
