“A Morning in Old Hoffman” was well received on Oct. 20 by many in attendance including Henryetta Historical Society members.
The program was presented by Mike Martin, using information taken from his book, “My Indian Territory School.”
“His books are really interesting and tell a history. Mike is eloquent. He gave a really good presentation,” Mary Warden, Henryetta Historical Society member, said.
Many stories and period photographs about the history of the town and school were presented by Martin at the Henryetta Civic Center.
Martin and his wife Ginny are residents of Magnolia, TX. Three generations of his family once resided in the Town of Hoffman.
“Historical things are valuable for our children and grandchildren to take part in. And, they are being presented free of charge. I would really like to encourage our youth to participate in these presentations,” Warden said.
A reception with refreshments was held prior to the presentation.
