Henryetta Chip-In Club and the Henryetta Gold Club sponsored a three-day camp this week for students to learn the fundamentals of golf. Children from around the county received instruction from Henryetta High School Golf Coach Dutch Vandenborn as they practied their swings, putting and other skills on the Henryetta Golf Course.
Henryetta High School sent two teams to the 11th High School Fishing World Finals Championship in La Crosse, Wis. over the weekend. Quinton Story and Connor Bullard made up the first team of Knights, while Lucas Thompson and Zeth McGowin were the second Knights team to enter the four-day tournament. The four Knights competed against 312 boaters from around the country, including Oklahoma teams the Ketchum Warriors, the Norman North Timberwolves and Spiro Bulldogs.
The Okmulgee High School baseball team is hosting a fireworks fundraiser located at the Creek Nation Travel Plaza on 2800 N. Wood Drive until Monday, July 6. Baseball players and coaches will sell fireworks at the stand from 11 a.m. to close leading up to the last day of the fundraiser. Money from the firework stand will go towards new baseball uniforms.
