Lady Demons’ season continues

Lady Demons fall to Muskogee in 17-4 loss The Beggs Lady Demons couldn’t recover from a big fifth inning, falling 17-4 to the Muskogee Lady Roughers on March 30 at the MCN Claude Cox Omniplex.

Muskogee got on the board early in the first inning with an insidethe- park home run by Ja’Keis Gandy. Beggs answered quickly in the bottom half, as Taytum Mills doubled down the right field line to help tie the game at 3-3.

The Lady Roughers regained the lead in the third inning when Ayriess Jordan singled to bring in a run, making it 4-3. Muskogee added to their lead in the fourth, taking advantage of a Beggs error that brought in three runs, followed by a double from Jamiah Maxwell to extend the lead to 7-3.

The game broke open in the fifth inning, as Muskogee scored 10 runs on eight hits. Highlights of the inning included a three-run inside-the-park home run and an additional RBI double from Gabbi Davis, along with key hits from Kyra Rowland, Jamiah Maxwell, Ruffin and Charlesia Normore, plus an RBI walk by Cailee Royse.

Ruby Tenison started in the circle for Beggs, pitching five innings and allowing 18 hits and 18 runs (13 earned), while striking out one and walking eight. Ke’Lashia Smith earned the win for Muskogee, giving up four hits and four runs over five innings, with one strikeout and seven walks.

Offensively, Taytum Mills led Beggs with three RBIs, while Emma Trimble collected two hits in three at-bats. The Lady Demons showed patience at the plate, drawing seven walks, with Stella Howell and Abigail Harmon leading the way with two each. Beggs also turned one double play.

— Lady Demons fall to Oktaha in hard-fought game The Beggs Lady Demons battled hard but came up short in a 14-7 loss to the Oktaha Lady Tigers in slow pitch action on March 30 at the MCN Claude Cox Omniplex.

Beggs struck first in the second inning when Kaylynn Hamilton launched an inside-the-park home run, driving in three runs to give the Lady Demons an early lead.

Oktaha responded and eventually pulled ahead 7-5 in the top of the sixth inning, highlighted by home runs from Aubree Davis and BrenLee Morgan.

Beggs answered back in the bottom half of the sixth to tie the game, capitalizing on a fly out by Emma Trimble and an Oktaha error.

However, Oktaha broke the game open in the seventh inning, scoring seven runs on five hits. Key contributions included a double by Davis, a double by Jocelyn Branan, a three-run inside-the-park home run by Kadence Strube and a solo inside-the-park home run from Tyann Stacy.

Ruby Tenison started in the circle for Beggs, pitching seven innings while allowing 16 hits and 12 runs, with four walks. Davis earned the win for Oktaha, pitching a complete game while giving up five hits and seven runs with three walks.

Offensively, Hamilton led Beggs with three RBIs, going 1-for-3 on the day. Abigail Harmon set the tone at the top of the lineup with two hits in three at-bats. The Lady Demons also turned one double play and played clean defense, committing no errors.

— Beggs comes up short in class with Sperry The Beggs Lady Demons came up just short in a high-scoring battle, falling 12-10 to the Sperry Lady Pirates on March 31, despite a standout performance from Emma Trimble.

Trimble led the way at the plate, going 3-for-4 with singles in the first, third and sixth innings.

Sperry struck first in the opening inning, using a pair of doubles to take an early lead, including an RBI double by Calli Webb.

Beggs answered in the third inning, reclaiming the lead as Trimble and Taytum Mills each delivered key hits that drove in two runs apiece.

However, the Lady Pirates responded in a big way in the bottom of the third, erupting for 10 runs on 11 hits to take a commanding 12-4 lead. Webb delivered the biggest hit of the inning with a two-run home run.

The Lady Demons refused to back down, rallying in the sixth inning with five runs. Stella Howell, Abigail Harmon, Ruby Tenison and Trimble each contributed RBIs to cut into the deficit and keep Beggs within striking distance.

Tenison started in the circle for Beggs, allowing 12 runs (seven earned) on 15 hits over three innings. T. Wolfe earned the win for Sperry, giving up 10 runs (nine earned) on 12 hits while striking out one and walking seven.

Beggs totaled 12 hits in the game, with Tenison and Harmon each recording multiple hits. The Lady Demons also showed patience at the plate, drawing seven walks, with Avery Been and Harmon leading the team with two each.

Sperry finished with 17 hits, led by Emma Stang and Wolfe with three hits apiece. Webb paced the Lady Pirates with four RBIs, while Jaden Strunk, Lydia Kennedy and Kaydyn Scarborough each added multiple hits in the offensive showdown.

Yandell led the charge at the plate, driving in four runs on three hits. She delivered a two-run double in the first inning and followed it up with a tworun single in the second to help fuel Beggs’ early momentum.

The Lady Demons wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, erupting for nine runs in the bottom of the first inning. Ruby Tenison got things started with an RBI groundout, followed by run-scoring hits from Emma Trimble, Willow Herod, Avery Been, Stella Howell and Abigail Harmon. Yandell capped off the inning with a two-run double.

Union responded in the top of the second, scoring six runs on six hits, highlighted by a solo home run from Elizabeth Robbins. The Lady Redhawks capitalized on a pair of errors and added RBIs from Yoselin Gomez and Megan Moran to cut into the deficit.

Beggs answered right back in the bottom half of the inning, plating five more runs. The Lady Demons took advantage of defensive miscues and added another big hit from Yandell, who drove in two more runs to extend the lead.

The offensive firepower continued throughout the game, as Beggs finished with 16 hits while Union collected 13 in the high-scoring contest.

Taytum Mills led Beggs in hits, going a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate. Yandell and Been each drove in four runs, while Herod and Trimble added multiple hits. The Lady Demons also showed discipline at the plate, drawing five walks, with Harmon leading the way with two.

In the circle, Emma Trimble got the start for Beggs, allowing six runs (three earned) over two innings. Tenison provided steady relief, pitching three innings and giving up three runs, none of them earned.

Union’s Moran took the loss after allowing 18 runs (eight earned) on 16 hits over four and two-thirds innings. Offensively, Moran also led the Lady Redhawks with three hits, while Robbins, Amelie Stoner and Gomez each added multiple hits. Joanisa Asberry paced Union with two RBIs.

With the win, the Lady Demons showcased their offensive depth and ability to respond quickly, pulling away in a game filled with momentum swings.

— Hazelwood leads Lady Demons to win over Union The Beggs Lady Demons put together a strong all-around performance on April 2, defeating the Union Lady Redhawks 9-4 at the MCN Claude Cox Omniplex.

Brooklyn Hazelwood led the offensive effort, going 3-for-4 at the plate. She recorded singles in the second and seventh innings and added a double in the fifth to pace the Lady Demons.

Union struck first in the opening inning, using a pair of groundouts to take an early lead, including an RBI from Megan Moran.

Beggs took control of the game in the fourth inning, erupting for five runs on four hits to flip the score in their favor. The Lady Demons capitalized on key opportunities, with the biggest moment coming on an error that brought in two runs and helped extend the lead to 6-2.

In the circle, Ruby Tenison delivered a complete game for Beggs, allowing nine hits and four runs while walking two over seven innings.

Union’s Moran took the loss, surrendering nine runs (three earned) on 13 hits over seven innings, while striking out one and walking six.

Beggs finished with 13 hits in the game and showed patience at the plate with six walks. Aliyah Vernon led the team with two walks, and the Lady Demons also turned a double play defensively.

Union collected multiple hits from Gianna Gammino, Joanisa Asberry and Yoselin Gomez, with Gomez driving in two runs to lead the Lady Redhawks.

With the win, the Lady Demons used timely hitting and consistent offense to secure another strong outing.

— Beggs suffers walk-off heartbreaker against Warner

The Beggs Lady Demons suffered a tough 4-3 walk-off loss to the Warner Lady Eagles on Thursday.

Beggs took an early lead in the first inning when Abby Yandell tripled to left field and Ruby Tenison followed with an RBI groundout, giving the Lady Demons a 2-0 advantage.

Warner answered in the bottom half of the inning, as Addison Upton delivered an RBI single to help tie the game at 2-2.

The game remained tight throughout, with both teams battling at the plate. Beggs regained the lead in the top of the seventh inning, taking advantage of a Warner error to go ahead 3-2.

However, the Lady Eagles had the final say. Trailing by one in the bottom of the seventh, Warner capitalized on a Beggs error to bring in two runs and secure the walk-off victory.

Tenison went the distance in the circle for Beggs, allowing four runs (two earned) on 12 hits over six and onethird innings while walking one.

Saige Casinger earned the win for Warner, pitching a complete game while giving up three runs (two earned) on eight hits, with two strikeouts and no walks.

Offensively, Yandell and Willow Herod each recorded two hits to lead Beggs, while Yandell and Tenison each drove in a run.

Warner tallied 12 hits in the game, with Ella LaBounty leading the way with a perfect 4-for-4 performance. Upton added two hits and an RBI, while Paisley LaBounty also contributed multiple hits.

Despite the loss, the Lady Demons showed resilience in a tightly contested game that came down to the final inning.

— Lady Demons fall to Sperry in pitcher’s duel The Beggs Lady Demons came up just short in a tightly contested pitcher’s duel, falling 1-0 to the Sperry Lady Pirates on April 2.

Both teams delivered strong performances in the circle, but a timely hit by Sperry in the sixth inning proved to be the difference.

Beggs stayed locked in a scoreless battle until the Lady Pirates broke through in the sixth with a double that drove in the game’s only run.

Ruby Tenison was outstanding in the circle for Beggs, pitching a complete game and recording all 21 outs. The right-hander allowed just seven hits and one unearned run while walking two.

Sperry’s Tessa Wolfe matched the effort, tossing a complete-game shutout. She allowed five hits and no runs while walking one.

Offensively, Beggs scattered five hits in the game, with Kaylynn Hamilton, Emma Trimble, Abigail Harmon, Abby Yandell and Aliyah Vernon each recording one hit. The Lady Demons also turned a double play on defense.

Sperry totaled seven hits, with Jayci Parker, Jaden Strunk, Alyssia O’Field, Wolfe, Nora O’Field, Mel Bustamonte and Kaydyn Scarborough each collecting one. Wolfe also drove in the game’s lone run.

Despite the loss, the Lady Demons delivered a strong defensive and pitching performance in a game that came down to a single key moment.

— Beggs faces tough test against Muskogee The Beggs Lady Demons faced a tough challenge on April 2, falling 10-1 to the Muskogee Lady Roughers.

Muskogee jumped out to an early lead in the first inning, stringing together three singles, including an RBI hit from Gabbi Davis.

The Lady Roughers continued to build momentum in the second inning, adding two more runs on a sacrifice fly by Charlesia Normore and an RBI groundout from Davis.

Muskogee extended its lead in the third inning, capitalizing on a combination of timely hitting and a Beggs error. Cailee Royse drove in a run on a groundout, Peyton Reynolds added an RBI double down the left field line and another run crossed on an error.

Ruby Tenison started in the circle for Beggs, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits in two-thirds of an inning. Emma Trimble provided relief, pitching three innings and giving up six runs (two earned) on five hits.

Ja’Keis Gandy earned the win for Muskogee, holding Beggs to just one hit and one run over four innings while walking four.

Trimble accounted for Beggs’ lone RBI, going 1-for-2 at the plate.

Muskogee was led offensively by Ayriess Jordan, who collected two hits in three at-bats, while Davis and Royse each drove in two runs.

Despite the loss, the Lady Demons continued to compete against a strong Muskogee lineup.
