Beggs claim 5-1 victory over Kiefer The Beggs Golden Demons secured a solid 5-1 win over Kiefer on March 30, backed by strong pitching and disciplined at-bats.
Beggs got on the board in the second inning, taking advantage of a dropped third strike and an infield single by Jerrett Hammer, with both plays bringing in a run to give the Golden Demons an early lead.
Hammer was domi- nant on the mound, earning the win after pitching a complete game. He allowed just two hits and one run over seven innings while striking out nine and walking two.
Trent Cantrell started on the mound for Kiefer, allowing two hits and two runs (none earned) over three innings, while striking out eight and walking four.
Offensively, Beggs spread the production throughout the lineup. Ethan Davison, Hammer, Colton McCoy and Dallas Wilson each recorded a hit. Dayson Sparkman, Davison, Hammer and Kash Coale each drove in a run.
The Golden Demons showed excellent plate discipline, drawing 13 walks in the game, with Coale leading the way with three. Sparkman and Davison created pressure on the bases, each stealing multiple bags as Beggs totaled six stolen bases.

After several scoreless innings, Beggs broke through in the top of the 11th. Colton McCoy started the rally with an RBI single, Davison drew a walk that brought in another run and Ty Woods added an RBI groundout to give the Golden Demons a 5-2 advantage.
On the mound, Helt delivered a strong start for Beggs, allowing just two hits and two runs (none earned) over five and two-thirds innings while striking out three. Kash Coale was dominant in relief, tossing three and one-third scoreless innings, giving up three hits while striking out three and walking two.
Kiefer’s Landon Ruggieri also turned in a solid performance, allowing four hits and two runs (one earned) over six innings with five strikeouts.
