Beggs boys deliver strong relay performances at Checotah Meet The Beggs Golden Demons boys track and field team turned in an impressive performance April 2 at the Checotah meet, using speed and depth to secure multiple top finishes and dominate the relay events.
Leading the charge for the Demons was Trey Ross, who captured first place in the 100-meter dash with a winning time of 10.99 seconds. Ross’ explosive start and strong finish set the tone for Beggs in the sprint events and helped establish early momentum for the team.
Jordan Wesley added to that success with a first-place finish in the 200-meter dash, crossing the line in 22.96 seconds. Teammate Brayden King followed with a sixth-place finish in 23.64, while Baker Copeland posted a time of 25.87 to round out Beggs’ efforts in the event.
Relay teams proved to be a cornerstone of the Demons’ success throughout the meet. The 4×100-meter relay team of Wesley, Ross, Sterling Jordan and King powered its way to a second-place finish with a time of 45.32. The same quartet returned in the 4×200 relay and delivered another strong performance, placing second again with a time of 1:32.10.
Beggs continued to shine in the 4×400 relay, where Ross, King, Sterling Jordan and Wesley combined for a second-place finish in 3:35.64. The consistency across all three sprint relays highlighted the Demons’ depth, speed and well-executed exchanges.
In distance competition, the 4×800 relay team of Isaiah Clay, Tripp Hall, Jackson Turner and Oliver Wadsworth earned a third-place finish with a time of 9:20.13. Clay also contributed individually, placing fourth in the 1600 meters with a time of 5:14.04.
Devin Monteque added to the Demons’ point total with a ninth-place finish in the 300-meter hurdles, clocking in at 50.37.
In the field events, Aiden Taylor and Jason Nethon provided solid performances in the discus. Taylor finished seventh with a throw of 109 feet, while Nethon followed closely in eighth place with a mark of 107 feet, 7 inches.
Overall, the Demons showcased a well-rounded performance, particularly excelling in the relays where they consistently finished among the top teams. The combination of individual victories and strong relay finishes reflects a team continuing to build momentum as the season progresses.
Under the guidance of head coach Jason Sport, the Beggs boys are positioning themselves as a competitive force, with Thursday’s results signaling continued growth and potential heading into the heart of the track season.

The Beggs Lady Demons track and field team delivered a standout performance Thursday at the Checotah meet, highlighted by a first-place relay finish and several strong individual efforts on the way to a third-place team finish overall.
The Lady Demons’ 4×200-meter relay team led the way, capturing first place with a time of 1:49.90. The team of Emmbreah Triplett, Kamya Stallings, Payten Turner and Padon Stallings combined speed and precision to secure the victory and provide one of the top highlights of the meet for Beggs.
That same quartet also turned in a strong performance in the 4×100 relay, finishing second with a time of 51.96. Their consistency across sprint relays underscored the team’s depth and ability to compete at a high level.
Individually, Kamya Stallings earned a first-place finish in the 100-meter dash, clocking in at 13.06 seconds. Her performance added another gold medal to Beggs’ tally and reinforced the Lady Demons’ strength in the sprint events.
Triplett also contributed points in the 200 meters, placing fifth with a time of 27.56 and continuing a productive day across multiple events.
The Lady Demons capped off their relay efforts with a third-place finish in the 4×400 relay. The team of Kamya Stallings, Padon Stallings, Triplett and Peyton Turner posted a time of 4:27.10, securing another podium finish and rounding out a strong showing in relay competition.
Throughout the meet, Beggs demonstrated balance and consistency, particularly in the sprint relays where the team repeatedly finished among the leaders. The ability to perform across multiple events highlights the depth of the Lady Demons roster.
Under the leadership of head coach Jason Sport, the Lady Demons continue to show steady improvement and competitive drive. With a first-place finish and several podium performances, Beggs proved it will be a team to watch as the season continues.
Thursday’s meet at Checotah provided another step forward for the Lady Demons, as they continue to build confidence and refine their performances in preparation for upcoming competition.
