A late-night wrong-way collision on U.S. Highway 75 left two drivers injured early Saturday morning, according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 3:42 a.m. on March 28, about 0.6 miles south of 271st Street South in Okmulgee County.
According to troopers, a northbound vehicle driven by 29-year-old Christian L. Waddle of Kellyville was traveling in the southbound lanes of U.S. 75 without headlights when the incident occurred. At the same time, a second vehicle, a commercial motor vehicle driven by 33-year-old Isaac E. Wrigley of Tahlequah, was traveling southbound in the proper lane.
Authorities reported that Waddle’s vehicle struck Wrigley’s vehicle head-on.
Both drivers sustained injuries in the crash. The extent of their injuries was not specified in the report. There were no passengers in either vehicle, and both drivers were reported to have been wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision.
The cause of the wrong-way travel remains under investigation.
