WHEREAS, on March 06, 2026, and continuing, several severe storms containing high winds, hail, torrential rain, and flooding, and tornadoes, having occurred in Okmulgee County, Oklahoma, causing known human fatalities and known weather-related human injuries, with considerable damage to public and private properties; and WHEREAS, immediate attention is required to protect public health, reduce further damage, ensure public safety and render emergency relief, and WHEREAS, We the, County Commissioners of Okmulgee County, Oklahoma, do find that the aforementioned conditions constitute a threat to the safety and welfare of the county, and create an emergency disaster situation within the meaning of Section 683.3, Oklahoma Emergency Management Act of 2003, as amended; NOW, THEREFORE, We the, County Commissioners, acting under the power vested in me/ us do hereby declare Okmulgee County to be a disaster area, entitled to aid, relief and assistance and do hereby direct the implantation of the County Emergency Operations Plan.
