Henryetta pulls away early, tops Beggs
By TIFFANY BELL SPECIAL TO THE TIMES,

Henryetta took control in the middle of the game Tuesday night, turning a close start into a decisive 44-14 victory over the Beggs Lady Demons in a varsity regular season matchup.

The Lady Knights relied on balanced scoring and a dominant second quarter to create separation, improving to 11-10 on the season. Beggs, now 4-18, stayed competitive early before Henryetta’s momentum shifted the game.

The opening quarter featured a defensive battle, with both teams working to find offensive rhythm. Paydon Stallings scored all five of Beggs’ points in the period, helping the Lady Demons match Henryetta possession for possession. The Lady Knights received early contributions from Jordyn Goodman, Zoe Boatright and Kynlee Wynne as the teams finished the first quarter tied at 5-5.

Henryetta seized control in the second quarter with a decisive 18-point surge. The Lady Knights found success on both ends of the floor, turning defensive stops into scoring opportunities while limiting Beggs to just two points in the period.

Boatright led the charge with nine points in the quarter, while Aubrey Taylor added seven and Maddie Rock contributed two. The run allowed Henryetta to build a 23-7 halftime lead and establish the tempo heading into the second half.

The Lady Knights continued to extend their advantage in the third quarter, outscoring Beggs 12-2. Taylor paced Henryetta with eight points during the stretch, while additional scoring from Boatright and Good helped push the margin to 35-9 entering the final period.

Beggs’ offense was again led by Stallings, who finished with a team-high nine points. The Lady Demons struggled to generate consistent scoring opportunities against Henryetta’s defensive pressure throughout the middle quarters.

Henryetta closed out the game with another steady offensive effort in the fourth. Rock scored four points and Karsyn Goodman added three, while Taylor chipped in two more to help secure the 44-14 final.

Beggs showed persistence in the final quarter, matching its first-quarter total with five points. Emmabreah Triplett knocked down three points, and Kamya Stallings added a basket to round out the Lady Demons’ scoring.

Taylor led all scorers with 17 points to pace Henryetta’s balanced attack. Boatright followed with 12 points, while Rock finished with six. Good contributed four points, Goodman added three and Wynne scored two.

For Beggs, Stallings’ nine points led the way. Triplett finished with three and Kamya Stallings added two to complete the scoring for the Lady Demons.

Henryetta’s depth and defensive consistency proved to be the difference, as the Lady Knights controlled the second and third quarters and maintained their momentum through the final period. The performance gave Henryetta a road victory and continued momentum as the regular season moves forward.
