Donna Lynn Lovell, deeply loved and respected wife, mother and Nana, passed from this life on Friday, January 30, 2026. She is now completely restored and resting with her Savior.
Donna was born to Mike and Wynona Crawley in Henryetta, on July 14, 1953. She attended and graduated from Weleetka High School, where she met her husband Gary Lovell, and they began creating their life together. Donna was a registered nurse, achieving her degree in only two years. She worked in the open-heart surgery division of Baptist Medical Center supporting their family as Gary attended medical school. She later worked alongside her husband for over 30 years in his family medical practice, taking on every role from nurse to office manager and all things in between.
Donna was a proud wife to Gary for over 52 years. She was deeply in love and dedicated. Even up to their last months in life together, if you saw Donna then you saw Gary and, more often than not, they were hand-in-hand. They had a love and marriage that has inspired generations.
She had a traveler spirit and enjoyed seeing the world, which led to her second career as a travel agent. She was also a licensed pilot, alternating co-pilot roles with her husband, as they were known to take off on a whim and end up wherever the weather was good. Whether they were on trips in Europe and Asia, a fly-in breakfast in the corner of the state, or a spontaneous road trip to see the largest ball of yarn, Donna was happiest when she and Gary were on an adventure together.
Donna was a devoted mother to her three children. She spent countless hours, days and years traveling to tennis and golf tournaments, attending every ceremony, school play and never failing to be their biggest fan. If you were a friend in her children’s lives, she no doubt was packing your snacks, driving you around, cheering your matches and celebrating you too. She taught us all what it truly means to show up for the people in your July 14, 1953 – January 30, 2026
life. Donna was selfless in every way.
For Donna, the role of Nana was icing on the cake. She lit up when her grandchildren walked in a room or even at the sound of their names. She would change any plan she had just to be with them. Whether it was taking them on trips, cousin sleep-over parties with all the junk food or picking and eating blackberries straight off the bush on a summer day, time stood still when their grandbabies were with Nana and Papa.
Donna had a servant heart in the truest form. She worked on medical mission trips in foreign countries, served in her local church in any and every way she could and mentored countless women and girls by loving them and taking the time to see their needs and meet them wherever they were. She was a friend, a mom, a nana and a servant to everyone. Donna loved fiercely, selflessly and wholly.
Though her mind and memory betrayed her in recent years, Donna maintained her fire and spark. She was kind, faithful and strong beyond the bounds of this world and trusted her life to her Savior. She was loved by all those who cared for her and was still able to love them back. She met us with a hug every day and left her husband with a goodbye kiss even when she couldn’t put names to faces. Donna was a beautiful, intelligent, kind and loving woman of God and her legacy continues in those she leaves behind.
She is survived by her loving and dedicated husband, Gary Lovell, her three children Danny Lovell and wife Amber, Andy Lovell and fiancé Marina Lukac and Sarah Thompson and husband Travis. She leaves her love with her six grandchildren, Abby Lovell, Ethan Lovell, Gracie Lovell, Truman Lovell, Emma Thompson, Ella Thompson and her great-granddaughter Zoe Carter. She leaves each of you who knew her with warmth and love and the hope that you will all meet her again in heaven one day.
