Mojo Grappling Academy athletes turned in an impressive performance two weeks ago at the Ironman Classic in Choctaw, returning to Okmulgee County with multiple gold and silver medals after a full day of tough competition on the mat.

Several Mojo athletes went undefeated in their respective brackets, combining dominant offense with stingy defense as they faced competitors from across the region.

Aryzona “Nona” Cummings led the way with a standout double-gold performance. Competing in two divisions, Cummings went a perfect 5-0 on the day, earning first place in both brackets. In her 10U Novice 120-pound division, Cummings finished 3-0 with two falls, while also going 2-0 with two falls in the 10U Girls 115-pound division. Across all five matches, she allowed just five total points, showcasing disciplined defense and mat awareness while controlling every bout.

Kaden Decker delivered one of the most dominant performances of the tournament, capturing gold in the 8U Novice 61-pound division. Decker went 5-0 with five falls and needed just six total minutes of mat time to secure first place. Even more impressively, he did not surrender a single point throughout the entire tournament, overwhelming opponents with consistent pressure and quick finishes.

Tucker Nuckolls also earned a gold medal in the 8U 105-pound division, finishing 3-0 with three falls. Nuckolls needed only 1 minute and 41 seconds of total mat time to win his bracket and, like Decker, did not give up a single point during his matches.

Colton “Colt 45” Tecumseh put together a strong showing in the 12U 67-pound division, finishing second overall. Tecumseh went 1-1 on the day, earning a fall in his opening match before dropping a hard-fought 7-3 decision in the finals, good for a silver medal finish.

Lillian Primeaux also brought home silver for Mojo Grappling Academy after finishing second in her girls division round-robin bracket. Competing in the 15U Girls 165-pound division, Primeaux battled through multiple matches to secure her spot on the podium.

Mojo Grappling Academy coaches praised not only the results, but the effort and commitment shown by every athlete who made the trip.

“We’re proud of all of our athletes who traveled toward the city and stepped on the mat to challenge themselves once again,” the academy shared. “Thank you to the parents for continuing to invest in your children, for waking up before the sun rises and for getting home after it’s been down for hours.
