Members of the VFW Auxiliary Post 539 hosted their annual Christmas party for children in the community on Dec. 13 at The Briefcase in Henryetta. The event featured Santa Claus and his elves, live Christmas music by Jason Scott, arts and crafts, games, prizes, candy, punch and cookies donated by Homeland, along with photo opportunities with Santa. Children also received handmade crocheted stockings created by Auxiliary President Teresa Stevenson and filled with prizes, and enjoyed a free raffle that included gift cards, a cash box, a miniature kids pool table, gift bags and a large cow squishy. The Auxiliary thanked Frontier City Kids, VFW Auxiliary Post 539 and VFW Post 539 members and volunteers Lucky and Louann from Hoffman Fellowship Center for helping make the community celebration a success.
