The Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History will transform into a snowy spectacle on Saturday, Dec. 13, for its latest Curiousiday event, “Winter Wonderland,” inviting visitors to explore the science behind the season.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and features hands-on S.T.E.A.M. activities for all ages, including interactive demonstrations on the physics of snowflakes and the biology of winter wildlife. A highlight of the day will be a unique photo opportunity: guests can sit in a sleigh pulled by reindeer from the museum’s mammalogy collection. The event will also feature a number of events celebrating the museum’s 25th anniversary year, including giveaways and free admission for the first 25 visitors.
Throughout the month of December, the museum has also announced special holiday hours. Although typically closed on Mondays, it will open on Monday, Dec. 22 and Monday, Dec. 29 during winter break. The museum will also be open on Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. It will be closed on Christmas Day.
