Another One for the Books
By PATRICK FORD Editor,

The Dewar Dragons put together one of the most explosive and well-balanced seasons in recent program history, piling up 4,698 total yards of offense and allowing just 2,184 over 13 games. With a punishing ground game, efficient passing attack and a defense that consistently smothered opponents, the Dragons controlled nearly every matchup and stormed through the season as one of Class B’s most complete teams.

Dewar averaged an impressive 361.4 total yards per game, with a staggering 201.7 rushing yards per outing. Their offense produced 81 total touchdowns, including 47 on the ground and 34 through the air, while the defense forced 19 turnovers and surrendered only 106 first downs all year.

Leading the way was junior quarterback Peyton Kilhoffer (#11), who delivered a breakout season through the air and continued to be a crucial part of Dewar’s running attack. Senior running back Braelin Lewis (#0) put together one of the strongest rushing campaigns in the state, while junior WR/CB Joseph Moore emerged as an all-around playmaker on both sides of the ball.

Together, the Dragons’ leaders established Dewar as one of the most dangerous, high-powered teams in Oklahoma football.

— Kilhoffer leads the charge Junior QB Peyton Kilhoffer proved to be the steady hand of the Dragons’ offense, completing 93 of 151 passes (61.59%) for 1,816 yards, 27 touchdowns and only two interceptions. He averaged 139.69 passing yards per game, with a long completion of 99 yards, and finished with an exceptional 137 passer rating.

His ability to extend plays and push the ball downfield allowed Dewar to open up the field for its powerful rushing attack.

Traber Jones (#13) stepped up in key moments, completing 22 of 59 passes for 254 yards, six touchdowns and one interception.

Overall, Dewar quarterbacks combined for 2,075 passing yards and 34 touchdowns, maintaining excellent efficiency throughout the year.

— Dragons dominate the run game Senior running back Braelin Lewis was another star for Dewar, delivering a monster season and rushing 107 times for 1,303 yards – averaging an eye-popping 12.18 yards per carry. He eclipsed the 100-yard mark several times and posted 20 rushing touchdowns, including a season-long run of 62 yards. His 100.23 rushing yards per game placed him among the elite backs in Class B football.

QB Peyton Kilhoffer was just as dangerous on foot, rushing 89 times for 578 yards and 13 touchdowns, averaging 6.49 yards per carry.

Traber Jones tallied 310 rushing yards on 25 carries (12.40 YPC) with seven touchdowns, emerging as an essential multithreat option. Additional contributors on the ground included:

• JoJo Waters: 124 yards on 5 carries (24.80 YPC), 1 TD

• Tanner Wilson: 82 yards on 1 carry (82.0 YPC), 1 TD

• Joseph Moore: 70 yards on 3 carries (23.33 YPC), 2 TD

• B. Wiebe: 66 yards on 10 carries • Malachi Brown: 48 yards, 1 TD

• Bentley Thrall (#21): 12 yards, 1 TD

• D. Hayt: 10 yards, 1 TD

• C. Webb: -2 yards In total, Dewar rushed for 2,623 yards at 10.25 yards per carry, with 47 touchdowns – a mark that underscores their power and explosiveness.

— Dewar receivers go long Despite being a run-heavy team, Dewar’s passing game was highly efficient and big-play oriented.

Wide receiver Joseph Moore led the Dragons with 41 receptions, 872 receiving yards and 12 receiving touchdowns, averaging 21.3 yards per catch, consistently stretching defenses and providing Kilhoffer with a reliable target.

Moore also made major contributions on special teams and defense, recording 101 total tackles, three interceptions and two forced fumbles, making him one of the most complete players on the roster.

— Defense & Team Performance The Dragons allowed opponents to score only 20 rushing touchdowns all season while giving up just 4.3 points per game during their dominant home stretch.

Team defensive highlights include: • 19 turnovers forced

• 101 tackles from Joseph Moore alone

• 7 team sacks

• Only 106 opponent first downs

• Just 402 opponent rushing attempts Dewar’s ability to dictate tempo and win the field-position battle played a significant role in their commanding victories.

— Team Totals

• 4,698 total yards

• 2,623 rushing yards

• 2,075 passing yards

• 61.49% pass completion

• 81 total TD (47 rush, 34 pass)
