During the challenges of the recent government shutdown, one thing continues to shine through – the strength and compassion of our community.
American Exchange Bank has reaffirmed its commitment to helping local families by donating $3,750 to several area organizations working tirelessly to ensure that no one goes hungry.
The contribution supports food ministries and pantries across Okmulgee and Okfuskee counties, including Joy in Life Ministries, Henryetta First Baptist Church, Dewar First Baptist Church, Henryetta Church of Christ and the Okfuskee County Community Cupboard. Each of these organizations provides meals or pantry services to residents in need – from hot dinners and weekend lunches to monthly grocery distributions.
“We are honored to contribute to local organizations ensuring families have access to nutritious meals,” the bank shared in a statement. “A heartfelt thank-you to the amazing volunteers making a difference every day. Together, we will get through this.”
These community partners play a vital role in assisting families affected by the shutdown:
• Joy in Life Ministries – 611 E. Trudgeon Street, Henryetta – Meals served daily from Nov. 3-30 (Mon. – Fri. 4:30–6:30 p.m.; Sat. – Sun. 12-1 p.m.)
