• The Henryetta Free-Lance welcomed graphic designer Carrie Bailey to the staff of the newsroom. Carrie had been previously employed at sister paper the Okmulgee Times before joining the Ardmoreite. Carrie said “My favorite thing about working for a newspaper is variety. No day is exactly the same and it gives me the opportunity to be creative.”
• Golf Oklahoma Magazine publisher, Ken MacLeod, made a visit to the Henryetta Golf Club early September 2015 to see firsthand how their greens project had been. Featured on page 33, “Taking the Long View” highlighted the clubs collective efforts to raise funds to pay for the new greens and how nicely they have matured after just one year.

After shaking hands with the Henryetta Knights, the visiting team returned to find the game was not the only thing they had lost. Following the game, eleven players reported missing items, prompting immediate notification to authorities. The reported losses included missing money, a billfold and a 2001 class ring. At the time, Henryetta Police reported having no suspects.
•GeorgeWayneKinsey Jr. received a 15 year sentence after pleading guilty to the sexual assault of a 4-year-old girl in his custody, according to District Attorney Tom Giulioli. He was indicted on felony counts of including rape, eight counts of lewd and indecent acts with a child under 16, and two counts of sodomy. Once released, Kinsey must register with the local law enforcement agency as part of the Sex Offender Registry. An incident in August 2000, witnessed and reported by a truck driver, is what started an investigation which, 10 days later, uncovered the additional information that eventually led to the felony charges.
