The Oklahoma Golf Coaches Association has announced its newest Hall of Fame class, and one of Henryetta’s most beloved sports figures will be among those honored. Longtime Henryetta golf coach Dutch VanDenBorn has been selected for induction into the Oklahoma Golf Coaches Association Hall of Fame, marking a crowning achievement in a remarkable career that spanned nearly five decades.
VanDenBorn coached Henryetta’s golf program from 1975 to 2022, guiding generations of athletes while helping to build one of the state’s most respected high school golf traditions. Over the years, he also served in numerous leadership roles within the Oklahoma Golf Coaches Association (OGCA), including president and vice president, and represented the organization as a 12-time member of the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association (OSSAA).
Henryetta Public Schools celebrated the announcement with enthusiasm, calling the honor “well-deserved” and describing VanDenBorn as a cornerstone of the school’s golf legacy. “Coach VanDen-Born has been and will always be a huge part of Henryetta Golf,” the district shared. “We cannot be more excited for Coach and his family to receive this once-in-a-lifetime honor!”
VanDenBorn joins an outstanding class of fellow coaches being recognized for their lasting impact on the sport. The 2025 OGCA Hall of Fame inductees include:
• Mike McGraw, who led Edmond North to three consecutive state titles (1994-96) and a runner-up finish after assisting Edmond Memorial to six straight championships from 1987-93.
• Ken Bruno, former Bartlesville coach and the 1979 Oklahoma Coach of the Year, who led the Bruins to six state championships between 1968 and 1984.
• Mark Kedy, longtime Ada head coach who guided his teams to two state championships during his 25-year tenure.
• Rick Meshew, head coach at Guthrie since 1992, whose teams have captured four state titles.
The five inductees will be officially honored during a special ceremony on Jan. 16, 2026, at the University of Central Oklahoma. The announcement was made by OGCA Hall of Fame chairman Tanner Dupree, who praised the 2025 class for their decades of dedication to student-athletes and the game of golf.
