Henryetta Lions celebrate community spirit, service at Oct. 30 meeting
By PATRICK FORD Editor,

Henryetta Lions Club gathered Oct. 30 at The Shack 2.0 for a meeting filled with community spirit, good news and upcoming service plans as members prepared for a busy season of giving and fellowship.

The meeting opened with a round of uplifting updates from members. Lion Bob Fowler shared that his recent cataract surgery was a success, while Lion Sheri Freeman returned from a rejuvenating week aboard a yacht. Lion Keith Green expressed gratitude that his daughter walked away from a car accident with only minor injuries, and Lion Alicia Dudley noted the success of the city’s recent Monster Mash event.

Minutes from the previous meeting were approved by motion from Lion Keith and seconded by Lion Bob. Tail Twister LouAnn Smith then added a special touch to the gathering by distributing greeting cards for Veterans Day. Members filled out the cards with heartfelt messages that will be delivered to veterans’ homes across the district.

Lion of the Day, Sheri Freeman, introduced the featured program speaker – fellow Lion Missy Nash – who was joined by The Henryettan online news team, Larry and Kjell. Together, they discussed Missy’s new online show, Mornings with Missy, which highlights women in the community and their unique life stories. The show aims to foster connections and remind women that they are not alone in their experiences. “It’s about bringing our community together through shared stories,” Missy explained, as fellow Lions applauded the project’s local impact.
