Isaiah 66:1-2 – This is what the Lord says: “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Where is the house you will build for me? Where will my resting place? Has not my hand made all these things, and so they came into being?” declares the Lord. “These are the ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble at my word.”
Our Father has never needed any grand gestures or overwhelming pageantry. All He has ever asked is a heart that loves, honors, and obeys Him. All else has been conceived and contrived by the world. Ornate costumes, decorations, and surroundings may impress man, but they are possible only from God. Jesus taught on hillsides, by wells, and aboard tiny fishing vessels, but we think we need more. If Jesus and His faith in the small group that has since grown into billions, who are we to think we need to add more than simple shelter from the elements?
