OCEM Report

This Nov. 3 report is a summary of activities Okmulgee County Emergency Management participated in and does not reflect all activities performed by or participated in by Okmulgee County Emergency Management.

— Meetings & Events

• Board of County Commissioners Meeting: Attended regular session to provide updates on current emergency management activities and ongoing projects.

• Emergency Management Search and Rescue Team Meeting: Conducted team meeting to review operational readiness, equipment status and upcoming training opportunities.

• Okmulgee Area Development Corporation “Made in Okmulgee” Manufacturer Appreciation Luncheon: Attended luncheon held at East Central Electric Cooperative to support community partnerships and local industry recognition.

• American Red Cross Meeting (Tulsa): Attended regional coordination meeting to strengthen collaboration and response procedures between Red Cross and Okmulgee County Emergency Management (OCEM).

• Scare on the Square Halloween Event: Participated in community outreach event to promote emergency preparedness and public engagement.

— Plans & Program Development

• Okmulgee County Emergency Operations Plan (EOP): Began 2025 revision of the county EOP to incorporate updated procedures, resources and response protocols.

• Okmulgee County Debris Management Program: Initiated 2025 program revision focusing on post-disaster debris clearance and coordination strategies.

• District Emergency Action Plans: Completed initial drafts for all three county districts; coordination meetings will be scheduled for review, revision and approval.

• Okmulgee County Hazard Communications Plan: Completed updated plan and submitted for approval to the Oklahoma Department of Labor.

— Emergency Responses

• Grass Fire Response: Responded to a reported grass fire; situation resolved without injuries or major damage.

• Storm-Related Damage Call: Responded to a wind-related incident involving a downed tree and a large limb penetrating a residence roof, rendering it unlivable. OCEM Red Cross Team was activated to assist the displaced resident.

• Structure Fire – Preston: Responded to a residential structure fire; OCEM Red Cross Team was activated to provide assistance and recovery support to the affected resident.
