The Okmulgee Bulldogs were unable to snap their recent skid, falling 40-8 to the visiting Heavener Wolves at Harmon Stadium. The loss marked the sixth straight for the Bulldogs, who now sit at 1-7 overall.
Heavener quickly took control on both sides of the ball, limiting Okmulgee’s scoring opportunities while steadily building a commanding lead. The defeat also mirrored the Bulldogs’ previous matchup with Heavener a year ago, when the Wolves came away with a similar result.
Heavener improved to 3-5 with the win and ended a four-game road losing streak that stretched back to the 2023 season.
Okmulgee will aim to regroup and close out the month on a stronger note as they travel to Bethel on Friday, Oct. 31. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. in a matchup between familiar district opponents.
