Henryetta Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 539 will hold a Flag Drive to raise money to purchase new flags due to the wear and tear of current flags.
The service life of each cemetery memorial flag is between three and four years before they need to be replaced at a cost of $1.50.
“Please assist us to honor our Veterans who have given their all,” VFW Flag Chairman Hugh Jackson said.
VFW members will accept donations at Homeland and Walmart on Saturday, Nov. 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Every Memorial Day, VFW members and volunteers place over 2,800 flags at 12 area cemeteries to honor our veterans.
In addition to the cemeteries, the VFW supplies and maintains the flags on the Main Street light poles. Any amount of donations provided will be greatly appreciated.
Mail-in donations will be accepted at VFW Post 539, P.O. Box 1027, Henryetta, OK 74437-1027.
