It’s Gumbo Time!
The public is invited to attend the annual Gumbo Fest this Saturday, Oct. 4, beginning at 10 a.m.
The festival is the town’s main fundraiser and those funds are important in helping maintain Grayson’s annual obligations.
Besides the good food, there will be a raffle, bounce house for the children, socializing and other vendors, according to Grayson Mayor Leon Anderson. Attendees will also be able to stop by the visitors center to learn more about the town.
The event will be held at the Grayson Community Center, 24160 Martin Luther King. Filé Gumbo is $13 and Seafood Gumbo is $17, and both are served with rice, dessert and a drink.
The festival takes place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will include raffles, games, music and more. The Visitors Center will be open, and a 50/50 drawing and quilt raffle will be held at 3 p.m.
