Morris shut out by Haskell, 40-0
By PATRICK FORD Editor,

The Morris Eagles fell to the Haskell Haymakers 40-0 in a tough road matchup Friday night, as the Haymakers kept the Eagles out of the end zone and extended their dominance in the budding rivalry between the two schools. The loss drops Morris to 0-3 on the season, while Haskell improves to 2-2.

Despite the final score, the Eagles showed grit and flashes of promise from several young players, and now turn their attention to Friday night’s upcoming home showdown against county rival Henryetta for the next chapter in the Walker Cup series.

— Haymakers control all four quarters Haskell wasted little time in establishing their ground dominance, racking up 288 total rushing yards as a team and scoring in every quarter. The Haymakers built a 20-0 halftime lead and added 20 more unanswered points in the second half.

Morris, meanwhile, managed 163 total yards of offense but struggled to sustain drives. The Eagles converted only 3 of 11 third downs and went 0-for-2 on fourth-down attempts. Two turnovers – one fumble and one interception – also hindered Morris’ momentum.

The Haymakers executed a balanced offensive attack, with 54 total plays and 17 first downs compared to the Eagles’ 52 plays and 10 first downs.
