Class A & B fastpitch districts

The Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association (OSSAA) has released the official 2025 Girls’ Fall Fastpitch Softball District Assignments for Classes A and B, signaling the start of postseason play for area teams. District tournaments must be completed by Sept. 27, with games scheduled for Sept. 25-26, although participating schools can adjust those dates upon mutual agreement.

This year’s brackets include representation from Okmulgee County, with Wilson and Dewar set to compete in their respective districts.

— County Teams in the Spotlight Class B – District 27

Wilson has been assigned to District 27 alongside McCurtain and Oaks, with Wilson serving as the host site.

This three-team format will follow OSSAA’s double-elimination guidelines. The district chairperson, typically the host school’s principal, will organize a pre-tournament meeting (held by phone) between Sept. 17-19 to draw brackets and coordinate logistics.

The Dewar Lady Dragons will compete

in District 27 with Keota and Weleetka, with Keota hosting.

With Dewar’s competitive softball tradition, this district offers a strong chance for regional advancement.

— OSSAA District Structure Highlights

Each district tournament is double elimination. The host site is listed first in each pairing and typically organizes the event. The district winner advances to regional play, scheduled in early October.

For three-team districts (as seen with Wilson and Dewar), three games will be played on Day 1, and two games on Day 2, if necessary.

OSSAA mandates that all district matchups be finalized by Sept. 27, and results must be reported to Assistant Director Mike Clark no later than midnight that day.

— Important District Tournament Notes

• Admission: $5 for adults/students; OSSAA playoff passes accepted with ID.

• Each team must supply one Wilson WTA 9611 softball per game.

• OSSAA’s ten-run rule is in effect; no tiebreakers will be used.

• District winners must report results by Sept. 27 to Mike Clark at OSSAA.

— What’s Next?

Teams now prepare for their final regular-season matchups and district seedings. Seeding will be based on records through Sept. 15 and the latest ossaarankings.com poll.

Wilson and Dewar fans should keep a close eye on announcements from their schools regarding game times and bracket arrangements. With regional berths on the line, expect fierce competition and exciting matchups across Okmulgee County.

Stay tuned to the Okmulgee Times and Henryetta Free-Lance for full district results, postseason recaps and athlete highlights.
