A 27-year-old Okmulgee man died Sunday night following a violent single-vehicle crash in rural Okmulgee County, according to a preliminary report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The fatal accident occurred at approximately 8:49 p.m. on Sept. 14 near the intersection of Arbeka Road and Juniper Road in Troop B’s jurisdiction. Authorities identified the victim as Daniel N. Worrall of Okmulgee.
According to OHP Trooper Bryan Bell’s report, Worrall was driving northbound on Arbeka Road when, for unknown reasons, his vehicle left the roadway to the left. He then overcorrected, veering off to the right side of the road and traveling up an embankment before crashing into a fence.
The impact caused the vehicle to roll approximately six times, ultimately ejecting Worrall from the vehicle. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
According to the OHP report, investigators determined that Worrall was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision, although it had been buckled behind his back, a detail that may have contributed to the ejection and fatal injuries.
No other vehicles or passengers were involved in the crash.
Trooper Bell, with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s Northeast Region, responded to the scene, along with local first responders. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol notes that this infor
