Lady Pirates dominate in recent action

Lady Pirates power past Beggs with 14-hit performance

The Preston Lady Pirates continued their dominant season with a 12-2 win over the Beggs Lady Demons on Saturday, sparked by a 14-hit offensive explosion and a standout performance from Kynlee Martin, who went 3-for-3 at the plate.

Preston wasted no time, putting up runs in each of the first three innings. Kristin Holuby opened the scoring with an RBI single in the first inning. The Lady Pirates exploded for six runs in the second, highlighted by an RBI double from Taylan Starr and a two-RBI triple by Olivia Beaver.

Josie Cope earned the win in the circle, throwing 2.1 scoreless innings and allowing just one hit while striking out three. Preston racked up 14 hits in total, with Ashleigh Hurt, Holuby, and Brooklyn Gertner each adding multiple base knocks.

• Pitching: Mills (2.1 IP, 14 H, 12 R, 7 ER) — Preston shuts down Inola with 9-0 win A six-run third inning propelled the Preston Lady Pirates past the Inola Longhorns in a 9-0 rout on Saturday, capping a dominant all-around performance from the defending district champions.

Taylan Starr, Ashleigh Hurt, and Sophia Bunner all drove in runs in the decisive inning. Bunner capped the rally with a 3-RBI triple to left field. Preston’s offense collected nine hits on the day, led by Starr with three.

Josie Cope threw a gem, giving up just one hit and zero runs while striking out four across five innings.

Starr was equally dangerous at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double and two singles. Ashleigh Hurt and Kynlee Martin each added two RBIs to support the Preston offense.
