Coming off a dominant 46-point performance the previous week, the Dewar Dragons were hoping to keep their momentum going. However, the Weleetka Outlaws had other plans, handing Dewar its first loss of the season in a 28-12 matchup on Friday night.
This marked the second consecutive win for Weleetka over Dewar, dating back to their meeting in September 2024.
— Key Offensive Performances
Despite the loss, several Dewar athletes put up impressive numbers:
• Braelin Lewis (Sr): 8 carries for 92 yards (11.5 yards per carry), including a touchdown. He also added one catch for 5 yards, totaling 97 all-purpose yards.
• Peyton Kilhoffer (Jr): Rushed 16 times for 90 yards (5.6 YPC) and one touchdown, and completed 3-of-11 passes for 18 yards.
• B. Thrall (So): Added a short 2-yard rush in the contest.
The Dragons were limited to 184 rushing yards, 18 passing yards, and 5 receiving yards for a total of 202 offensive yards on the night. — Weleetka’s Dual Threat Dominance Isaiah Drake led the Outlaws with an all-around performance. He rushed for 148 yards and two touchdowns, threw for 221 yards and one touchdown, and made an impact on defense with nine tackles and a forced fumble. Receiver Bryant Sites also added 149 yards receiving and a touchdown.
-The Weleetka Outlaws improved to 3-0, while the Dewar Dragons fell to 2-1 on the season.
Dewar will have some time to regroup before returning to action on Thursday, Sept. 26, at home against Waurika. The matchup will be a chance for the Dragons to bounce back and build on their strong opening to the season.
